KNOB TAILED GECKO
Nephrurus amyae
Description:
Largest,heaviest and most spinose Nephrurus species, reaching
over 130mm in SVL. It has extremely large head and small tail.
Ground colour from pale brown to reddish brown, marked with
numerous fine dark transverse lines.
Distribution:
Restricted to rocky areas of the southern Northern Territory.
Habitat:
Usually found in rocky habitats where it lives in crevices
between larger outcrops or under larger slabs on a soil or
sandy substrate.
